Panthers release 2011-2012 Schedule

Senior Pete “Popeye” Berman will be on the hunt for his first Section Title

The Panther?s season kicks off on Thursday, December 1^st with the annual Blue and White match where members of the team will wrestle-off for starting spots in the month of December. The first tournament competition begins the following day at the Tony Carlucci Duals at SUNY Purchase.

Edgemont?s home schedule features dual meets against Dobbs Ferry (Thursday 12/15), New Rochelle (Thursday 12/22) and possibly Pearl River (Tuesday 1/17 ? Location TBD). Edgemont will also be hosting this year?s Bronx River Cup against rival Scarsdale on Friday, January 27^th at 6:00 PM, as well as the 30^th Annual Edgemont Wrestling Invitational on Saturday, January 21^st.? The Edgemont Wrestling Invitational is one of the largest tournaments in Section 1 with 19 teams competing from?NYC, Private Schools, Catholic Schools, Section 1 (Large and Small Schools), Section 9 and?Connecticut.

Finally, the Panthers will also be eligible to host the championship match of the Section 1 Dual Meet Championships on Thursday, December 8^th, if the team qualifies. The qualifying rounds will be held the two days prior and the Panthers will be competing at Croton-Harmon HS on Wednesday, December 7^th as they strive to reach the finals.

Other highlights include, challenging tournaments such as the Center Moriches Duals on Long Island where the Panthers will wrestle nine dual meets in two days against some of the best competition on Long Island on December 17^th and 18^th.; the Eastern States Wrestling Classic ? dubbed ?the toughest tournament in New York State? ? on January 13^th and 14^th; and the Shoreline Wrestling Classic at New Rochelle High School on Saturday, January 7^th.
