While only two locals made it to the finals at the New York state wrestling championships at the Times Union Center in Albany on Saturday, they both made it count.
Edgemont senior Trey Aslanian captured in his first state title in his third consecutive state finals appearance, defeating top-seeded Sean Peacock of Midlakes in the 120-pound Division 2 final with a 4-2 decision. Trey overcame an early deficit to avenge a loss to Peacock in last year?s final.
