Edgemont High School opened its doors in 1955, but it wasn’t until 1964 that Edgemont saw its first wrestling team. Here’s the page out of the 1964 Yearbook. Click on the page for a larger version with readable text:

That’s right…the strapping young coach in the middle is none other then Edgemont legend, Mr. Eric Kantor. Kantor started the wrestling program at Edgemont and guided the team through its first few seasons. Today, Mr. Kantor, having recently retired from his long-time position in Edgemont’s Math Department, still keeps score at home matches.
