This Saturday, November 13th Edgemont Wrestlers and Coaches will be tackling a challenge slightly different than those presented on the wrestling mat. Edgemont Varsity wrestlers and coaches will be participating in the program’s first ever Edgemont Wrestling Annual Community Service Day. Wrestlers and coaches will be volunteering with Habitat for Humanity to help kick off the new season.
“We felt like this was a great move for our program,” said First Assistant Coach Pete Jacobson. “We are a very competitive program, but aside from that, one of the main philosophies of our coaching staff is to help our athletes grow and develop into solid people. Wrestling helped shape myself and our other coaches, and in a lot of ways that has carried over into our lives beyond the mat. We want to use wrestling to help develop these qualities in our athletes.?Community service is obviously a great way to give back to the community, but it is also an amazing opportunity for our athletes to realize this is something that we find important as coaches and we hope it rubs off on them a little.”
Stay tuned for pictures and updates on our project this Saturday!
